Rising majestically from the Chota Nagpur plateau in Giridih district, Parasnath Hill (known as Shri Sammed Shikharji) is the most revered pilgrimage destination on Earth for Jain devotees. Of the twenty-four divine Tirthankaras who revitalized the Jain Dharma, twenty attained Nirvana (spiritual liberation) upon these sacred summits, including Bhagwan Parshvanatha, the 23rd Tirthankara after whom the hill is named.

At an altitude of 1,365 meters (4,478 feet), it is also the highest mountain peak in the entire state of Jharkhand, offering breathtaking 360-degree vistas across forested valleys and cloud seas.

• Starting Time: Devotees typically begin the 27 km uphill parikrama between 01:30 AM and 03:00 AM under torchlight and stars to reach Parasnath Tonk by sunrise and avoid afternoon heat.
• Doli / Palanquin: For senior citizens, mothers with infants, and pilgrims unable to hike, certified local doli-wallahs are available with fixed union pricing.
• Footwear: Leather items are strictly prohibited on the holy hill path. Wear clean cotton socks or trekking shoes.
